This trial deals with the integration of power network frequency regulation functions in the operation of EV charging infrastructure. This integration implies the installation of 5G modems and the implementation of fast smart charging modules (suitably embedded in the charging stations) that work on the basis of real-time network frequency measurements. A crucial point here is the assessment of communication reliability, which has an impact on the ability of charging infrastructure operator to take commitments on electricity markets.
