An ATO application is also an on-board to trackside data communication, which has to imitate the behaviour of the train drivers when a mission is assigned to them. For that, the ATO application can rely on a first input provided to it: the Journey Profile, which is the set of information that enables one to know the theoretical route and the stations to pass. The characteristics of the tracks on which the train will circulate are in the Segment Profile and allow the train to drive.

Validation of MC (Mission critical) and FRMCS features

  • Same MC features as for ATP (Automatic Train Protection), equivalent to the ETCS application use case.
