Object recognition applications, especially when supported with artificial intelligence, have a big part to play in a number of 5G use cases, including industry 4.0, healthcare and public protection. This experiment shows the use of AI-based object recognition software which takes a streamed video feed from a 5G handset camera and is able to identify certain objects in real time. It makes use of a high bandwidth path through the network to deliver the video to the AI application and uses a low latency path to ensure that the recognition happens immediately and that this is visible to users watching the stream.
